Our classes are primarily suitable for children aged 5 to 12. However, at our Dundalk and Drogheda locations, we offer additional classes for toddlers aged 2- 4, where parents are actively involved during the sessions. In Dundalk, we also run a special transition class for children aged 4+, designed to prepare them for mainstream classes. While our general classes are geared towards children up to age 12, we do have a few advanced-level classes that are popular with teenagers, as they continue to enjoy and benefit from our gymnastics programs.

Our gymnastics classes are run by term, and each term usually lasts 8 weeks, with a cost of €90. Some terms may be shorter, and the price will be adjusted accordingly. In addition to the term fee, there is a yearly membership fee with the IGA, which is approximately €20 per annum.

No, we do not offer a pay-as-you-go option. Our classes are run by term, and the fees are paid in full for each term.

Yes, we do offer test classes if you’re unsure whether your child will enjoy our classes. It’s a great opportunity to try it out before committing. Test classes are subject to availability, so please send us a private message, and we’ll check for openings. The price for a test class is €15.

Yes, your child must be a member of the IGA to attend our classes. We are affiliated with the Independent Gymnastics Association (IGA), and this membership includes yearly insurance, which is required for every participant. The membership ensures that all gymnasts are covered during their classes and training. Regardless of how many terms your child attends with Fun Gymnastics, membership with the IGA must be paid annually.

Our mainstream classes are 50 minutes long, while our toddler/parent classes are 40 minutes long. Additionally, children have extra time before and after class to get ready or pack up to go home.

In general, parents are not allowed to stay and watch the class. However, if your child is nervous and it’s their first class, we allow parents to stay for the first few minutes to comfort them. After that, we kindly ask parents to leave, as our mainstream classes require children to independently follow instructions. This helps build confidence and allows the child to focus fully on the class.

our child will need comfortable attire, such as leggings/shorts and a simple t-shirt. They are also welcome to wear professional gymnastics attire like a leotard if they prefer. During the winter season, we require them to wear grip socks or they can train barefoot, depending on what they find more comfortable. For safety reasons, we do not allow slippery socks to be worn during practice. Additionally, please make sure your child brings a large bottle of water to stay hydrated throughout the class.

For safety reasons, we request that long hair be tied up in a gymnastics bun to avoid accidents, such as the coach accidentally pulling on the hair during spotting. Loose hair is not permitted. Additionally, we ask that no jewelry be worn during classes, including necklaces and long earrings, to prevent any injuries.

Unfortunately, our mainstream classes are not specifically designed for children with additional needs. However, we are always happy to discuss individual requirements and explore options to support every child. Please feel free to contact us, and we’ll do our best to assist and accommodate your child’s needs.

Our general level classes are suitable for children who are just starting their gymnastics journey, as well as those who have been attending for a while but are still working on mastering fundamental skills. We understand that every child learns at their own pace, and our general classes are designed to support that. In contrast, to attend our advanced level classes, a child must be able to perform specific skills, such as a cartwheel in a straight line, a proper handstand, and a backbend. These classes are for children who have already developed a strong foundation in gymnastics and are ready to progress to more challenging techniques.

The PRO class is the most advanced class we offer and is designed for children with highly advanced gymnastics skills. An assessment is required to join this class to ensure that the child is at the appropriate level to maintain the high standards of the class. We do not accept participants without an assessment for the PRO class. If you’re unsure whether your child is ready, please contact us to discuss their progress, and we can arrange an assessment. Please note, these classes are only available at our Dundalk and Mullingar locations.

We do not offer refunds for unused classes. However, you are more than welcome to bring your child to a make-up class! In addition to their regular class, you can bring your child to any other suitable class within the same term.

All our main coaches are fully qualified, and there is always at least one coach with full qualifications present in every class. In addition, all our coaches are Garda vetted, first aid trained, and have completed safeguarding training to ensure a safe and supportive environment for all participants.
